Hey bloggers,
After struggling on the road and losing two in a row, the Lakers are back home and quickly back to business against the Utah Jazz. Not only resigning 13time all-star leader Kobe Bryant on a 3 year extension but also getting back to their wins. The Jazz, that now won seven in a row, came into the Staples Center with a lot of confidence especially knowing that the Lakers have been struggling lately, which wasn’t the case tonight. With Lamar Odem and Paul Gasol, each one with a double and both having things their way, LA’s intensity helped them cruise past the Jazz. "It's about time," said Gasol, who finished with 14 points, 16 rebounds and a season-high nine assists. "We can't afford to have games like those on the road for now on. I think we're getting there, and tonight was a good sign. We have to continue to control our path." Controlling their path hasn’t really been the case as of late with this squad, they have the team to beat anyone in this league, but are lacking production from their bench players, and in this league, in order to be the champions, you need that productions and commitment from not only the starters but also from the reserves. Kobe Bryant had one of his worst shooting performances but still managed to get out of this one with 20pts, Lamar Odem had a game high 26pts on 11-for-14 shooting and Derrick Fisher finished with a solid 14pts performance.
