Hey bloggers,

After struggling on the road and losing two in a row, the Lakers are back home and quickly back to business against the Utah Jazz. Not only resigning 13time all-star leader Kobe Bryant on a 3 year extension but also getting back to their wins. The Jazz, that now won seven in a row, came into the Staples Center with a lot of confidence especially knowing that the Lakers have been struggling lately, which wasn’t the case tonight. With Lamar Odem and Paul Gasol, each one with a double and both having things their way, LA’s intensity helped them cruise past the Jazz. "It's about time," said Gasol, who finished with 14 points, 16 rebounds and a season-high nine assists. "We can't afford to have games like those on the road for now on. I think we're getting there, and tonight was a good sign. We have to continue to control our path." Controlling their path hasn’t really been the case as of late with this squad, they have the team to beat anyone in this league, but are lacking production from their bench players, and in this league, in order to be the champions, you need that productions and commitment from not only the starters but also from the reserves. Kobe Bryant had one of his worst shooting performances but still managed to get out of this one with 20pts, Lamar Odem had a game high 26pts on 11-for-14 shooting and Derrick Fisher finished with a solid 14pts performance.

Hey bloggers,

Today like the previous game, the Lakers squad got it handed to them with another lost against the Fly Hot Hawks. It’s now been two in a row that the Lakers have been looking a little shady, with poor performance from both the starters and the bench players, LA is not heading in the good direction heading into the playoffs. "Fish couldn't buy a shot," said Jackson, who said before the game that the play of his reserves has made him want to vomit. "It's hard to digest. Everybody on their team got going, basically, at some point. We're not playing really solid defence." Kobe netted another 26pts performance but only to get no help from other teammates beside Gasol, who finished with another double-double, 16pts and 11reb. "We're frustrated because we are aware of our quality," Gasol said. “We're not playing to that quality, that potential. When things don't go the way you think they should, and you don't understand why, you get a little bit sidetracked." With just a few more games left for the Lakers before the playoffs, LA hopes to have Andrew Bynum back in the line-up in maybe a week and a half if they hope to have things their way. This is very uncommon for the Lakers to lose two straight games by this much, especially knowing playoffs are around the corner. "We're not playing well defensively," Bryant said. "This trip, it's been consistently bad." The Lakers next faceoff The Utah Jazz back home for the first time since this road trip began. Hopefully they straighten out a bit and head back in the winning direction.

Hey bloggers,

Despite a great win over the Houston Rockets Last night and another great performance from Paul Gasol and Kobe Bryant tonight, the Lakers came up short to the New Orleans Hornet. They didn’t play that well, especially in the beginning but managed to keep it tight throughout the game. Frustrated towards himself and his teammates Bryants attitude went from saucy to silent while getting asked a few questions fallowing their lost. When a reporter asked Kobe what happen in Oklahoma and in New Orleans, Bryant simply responded, "We just didn't play well." When he was then asked why he was frustrated during the last few minutes of the game, he responded again "We just didn't play well." Beside the big two, Kobe and Gasol, the Lakers barely got help from their teammates. Gasol finished with 26pts and 22reb another double-double, Kobe had 31pts, and Ron Artest finished with 14pts. "He was getting double- and triple-teamed, and he was getting the ball to guys for shots and we just didn't shoot the two-point shot well at all," Lakers coach Phil Jackson said. "We had a couple here and a couple there. We weren't consistent at all." The Lakers next face off against the Hot Atlanta Hawks Wednesday night.

Hey bloggers,

After a heart breaking lost to the Oklahoma Thunders, the Lakers bounced back taking out all their frustration from the game before over The Houston Rockets. Rockets were leading at the end of the first quarter, but after that the Lakers just put it in 4th gear and went on a 35-11 run to end the half. The Lakers played well all around, offensively and defensively, which all started with Bryant’s aggression on the floor. "We tried to be aggressive and bounce back from a poor performance," said Paul Gasol, who led all scorers with a season-high 30 points. "We cracked it open in the second quarter and that gave us the momentum to put them away." The second leading score was Kobe, with 17 pts, 13 reb and 1 assist shy of a triple double. "We executed better than last night" Bryant said. "We came out and ran our offense the way that we are supposed to. Our defence is very solid, but there are nights when we don't show up defensively. Defence was the key to our second quarter." Bryant and Gasol had some help from teammates, Derrick Fisher had 13pts, Lamar Odem had 7 and contributing off the bench were Shannon Brown with 14pts and Jordan Farmar had 15. The Lakers continue their road trip against the New Orleans Tuesday night.

Tough loss for the Lakers

Hey bloggers,

Today the hot Lakers weren’t looking so hot after ending their 7-0 winning streak with a loss against the Oklahoma Thunders. Before today, LA was on a 12 game winning streak dating back to when Oklahoma was still in Seattle. The Lakers have been looking very strong and are fighting to keep that number one spot in the West but today just didn’t do it. With Thunders sold out crowed, Kevin Durant and his Thunders were ready mentally and physically for the defending champs. They just had to much speed and quickness all around, they hustled better and did all the right things to come up with that win. "Thabo's defence was great," said an admiring Kevin Durant, "Kobe is the best player in the world. Thabo gets us going on defence; he did a great job of fighting Kobe." When Kobe has nine turnovers, you know Oklahoma was too much to handle. They forced the Lakers to make a lot of mistakes.”Kobe had nine turnovers and you can't do that," Jackson said. "You can't have a game like that and expect to have success especially this late in the season." The whole Lakers squad really struggled defensively but also offensively. Leading the way was Andrew Bynum’s replacement Lamar Odem with 15 pts; Kobe only had 11pts, Gasol 9, Brown 9 and Fisher 7. Playoffs are ahead and the Lakers know what they have in for us. "We want to play better. There are things we have to do. I know what we can do. I know what our game really is and so I'm not second guessing it." But meanwhile Lakers still have few things to take care of before the season is over, they will be facing The Houston Rockets Saturday night.

On the road ,No Bynum, No problem!

Hey Bloggers,

Wednesday March 24th 2010

As you all know starter center Andrew Bynum is still out with a leg injury, but that doesn’t stop the Lakers from doing some damage and winning on the road. On Wednesday night, Kobe and the Lakers didn’t waste no time against a possible first round playoff match up, the San Antonio Spurs. The Lakers had won 6 in a row before this one, and that sure didn’t seem to make them happy enough. Kobe Bryant had one of his best second half’s this season going 11-for-16 on the game and Ron Artest(5 steals in second half alone) showed us the prime Ron Ron Defence throughout the whole game. "It was playoff type of atmosphere," Bryant said. "We were down the first half and we had to battle back. It was a good win for us to start this road trip. Against San Antonio you have to execute." Lakers went on a 16-3 run thanks to Kobe’s 3 pointers. "I just tried to be patient," Bryant said. "I had spots out there, especially in the first quarter, when I knew it was going to be a tough day. I just had to wait." LA was happy to start of their 5game road trip with a win over the Spurs because they know that they’ll be seeing a lot more of them in the playoffs, and even better, in the final rounds.
