After a heart breaking lost to the Oklahoma Thunders, the Lakers bounced back taking out all their frustration from the game before over The Houston Rockets. Rockets were leading at the end of the first quarter, but after that the Lakers just put it in 4^th gear and went on a 35-11 run to end the half. The Lakers played well all around, offensively and defensively, which all started with Bryant’s aggression on the floor. "We tried to be aggressive and bounce back from a poor performance," said Paul Gasol, who led all scorers with a season-high 30 points. "We cracked it open in the second quarter and that gave us the momentum to put them away." The second leading score was Kobe, with 17 pts, 13 reb and 1 assist shy of a triple double. "We executed better than last night" Bryant said. "We came out and ran our offense the way that we are supposed to. Our defence is very solid, but there are nights when we don't show up defensively. Defence was the key to our second quarter." Bryant and Gasol had some help from teammates, Derrick Fisher had 13pts, Lamar Odem had 7 and contributing off the bench were Shannon Brown with 14pts and Jordan Farmar had 15. The Lakers continue their road trip against the New Orleans Tuesday night.
