Hey bloggers,

After exploding and cruising past the Utah Jazz, LA have now made it to the Western Conference Finals, and are versing some old rivals the Phoenix Suns. The Lakers had managed to beat the Sun's in 7 games but this is a new year, and a new team. Even tho some faces are still the same from a few years ago, Phoenix now has a new coach who is looking forward to doing things a little differently and also to lead this talented team to the NBA Finals. During this season, the Lakers have managed to take 3-4 from the Suns and kept that winning percentage alive here tonight. Even with a knee injury,Kobe Bryant was just too unbelievable in this one ending his night with 40pts to lead all scores and to help LA obtain this victory. A big part of this one, was Lamar Oden, who was also very big in this ball game, finishing off with 19pts and 19reb. I didn't want to really wait," said Odom, "I said to myself if I'm going to have a bad game, then I'm going to have a bad game going out swinging ... I tried to attack." This is what LA needs from Lamar if they want to keep on rolling this way. They next play Wednesday night here at the Staples C enter.

Hey bloggers,

After playing hard , the Lakers are back in Oklahoma hoping to put this series away. It was an amazing game and probably one of my favourite playoff game so far. Both teams went at it and were exchanging buckets for buckets. Thunders were leading by 3 with 2 minutes left on the clock, but Kobe Aka mister big shot made a key jumpers to bring LA closer, and then Gasol got an offensive rebound from Kobe's miss shot, and put it back in to win the game. It was a very sad way to loose, but after all that's what you get when you don't box out. "I had Westbrook on me, got him in an isolation then went to my sweetspot, elevated, took the shot but it didn't go in," Bryant said. "Paul saved the game for us." If it wasn't for Paul saving his team like that, this series would of went back to LA for game 7, which would of been electrifying! It's sad to say that it's over for the Thunders, but they played very well during the whole season. This young team deserves a lot of credit. Now LA move on to the next one as Kobe says against the Utah Jazz. The series kicks off Sunday May 2nd here in LA.

Hey bloggers,

Back in LA, the Lakers were hoping to get back to their usual, Winning! They quickly set up the paste from the get go and were rolling. They played great defence and did things just like in the first two games of this series, which they hadn't done in Oklahoma. Both LA's big man stepped up big time to give them a boost late in the ball game. Paul Gasol had 25pts and 11reb and Andrew Bynum finished with 21pts and 11reb. After watching the game, Thunders kept them selves in the ball game even while shooting the ball very poorly. The couldn't buy a shot from the outside, but with great ability to get to the hole, Westbrook and Durant kept this game pretty close until the fourth quarter. For me to see such a young team play that well during this series, is a great feeling especially when your going up against the defending champs. Kobe Bryant even said that Thunders can be a hell of a challenge when they want. I enjoy a challenge," If we're going to be eliminated then I want to go into the summer thinking that I could have done something about. So I accept the challenge." The next game is back in Oklahoma on Friday night. I think It just gets better from now on!

Hey bloggers,

After an impressive win over the Lakers , the young Thunder team comes up big with another sneaky win over LA, but this time it was a blowout. This team has now won two in a row here in Oklahoma and i am sure that they are feeling good to see that their right back in this series. You could tell by watching the game, knowing that they were down 2-0 against the defending champs, they just had to battle back and battle and do something differently in order to get this key win. In an interview, Coach Phil Jackson said this about the way LA played. "Not much to say about that one, they just took it to us, "The beginning of the second half was as bad as we can start and we tumbled from there. It was a pretty good meltdown." After hearing that comment, Lakers starting guard, also the Captain, said that he had never heard his coach say something like that, which means that they must of played very bad and they probably did quit on each other during this game. Paul Gasol had 13pts, and Kobe only 12pts. As for the Thunders, the had a great contribution as usual from their point guard Russel Westbrook with 18 and Durant had 22 to lead all scores. Both team will now head back to LA tonight for game 5.

Hey bloggers,
Today LA are on a two day road trip against their opponent Oklahoma Thunders. The Lakers who have played very well in the past two days, knew that it wouldn’t be an easy task in this building, and they were right. Oklahoma played adjusted well to the tall LA squad and played great defence during the whole game. Watching the game, I taught La would have a great advantage during this season since Oklahoma is a very short teams and they have all the height on their side. Russel Westbrook and Kevin Durant combined for 56 of the 101 Thunder point to get this win. During an interview, Kobe Bryant said this young team can sure play ball, and are going to get excited and play well for their fans, but we just have to find a way to take them out of their rhythm. Thunders know that it just gets tougher from here because a great coach like Phil Jackson will adjust and try to take more advantage of their advantage. LA next verses Thunders back here on Saturday night before heading back to LA Sunday morning. Durant finished his night with 28pts and 10reb on a poor shooting night while teammate Russel Westbrook topped off his night with 27pts and 7reb.

Hey Bloggers,

The Lakers had an easy win over the Thunders two nights ago, and were hoping to repeat it here tonight before heading to Oklahoma . I Cant say that tonight's game was an easy win for LA at all because the score was very tight for the whole 48min. Both teams played and executed very well, but at the end it was a battle of the superstars with Kobe and Durant shinning when their teams needed them most. Even tho Ron Artest played exceptional defence on Durant, he still managed to walk out this one with 32pts but the story of the night was Kobe Bryant, who made big shots as the time was whining down. He made key free throws and just couldn't be stopped. "You expect him to make big shots," Thunder coach Scott Brooks said. "Unfortunately he did again tonight." Bryant had 39pts to lead all scores and to help his team win this one. I watched the whole game and Thunders defence was very good against LA, especially since they have a much shorter team then the Lakers do, and i also feel that Thunders are quickly getting the hang of this. "Our energy on the defensive end was phenomenal," said Durant "We just have to correct the offensive."Maybe when they go back to Oklahoma, this team just might have a chance to win a game or more if they play the way they played today, and that's a scary taught for the Champs.

Hey bloggers,

First game of the 2009-2010 NBA playoffs was a good one for the Lakers. They had all their starters back and were ready to role. They did struggled a lot late in the season with Kobe and Bynum out and weren't looking like they would be ready to compete coming playoff time, but they did what they had to do here tonight and got the job done. They were very aggressive and had a lot of help from their big mans, even Bynum taught so. "That's just part of being aggressive and letting people know and having a presence out there." Said Bynum who finished of with 13pts and 12reb. It was good to see them adjust to newer things just like Kobe said they would and to be honest After watching this game I feel that LA will take this series 4-0 if they keep on playing like this. With all that said, we have to acknowledge that Oklahoma is a new and young team, and its also their first time qualifying for the playoffs, but they need to know that nothing will come easy for them during this series, especially against the defending champs. "It was a tough one for us tonight," Durant said. "I had some good looks. Some great looks. I wasn't able to make them. That's discouraging." Kobe Bryant finished with 21pts and Paul Gasol ended his night with 19pts and 13reb to secure this victory.

Hey Bloggers,

All around the Los Angels Lakers had a good post season. They had their ups and down but played very well when they needed it. They had a lot of injuries during and throughout the whole season but they also handled that very well. With Bynum out for a few months, Lamar Odem stepped up and helped the Lakers pick up the slacks and to fill up the wholes. Even tho at times the Lakers seemed as if they were lacking a personality, we all still believe that the defending champs are and will remain one of the toughest contenders in this league. With the post season now over, the Lakers are hoping to have the whole roster healthy in order to make some noise in the playoffs. If they want to win the really need to do a few things differently to accomplish that goal. I heard Kobe Bryant on an interview say that they need to change a lot of things for the playoffs because you can never win two championship in a row doing the same thing. And i think that is totally true since other teams have really stepped up in making changes for their sake and their organizations. Hopefully the LA learned a lot and will be ready for the playoffs coming up in a few days. LET THE PLAYOFFS BEGGIN!:)

Hey Bloggers,

After a great win over the Kings last night, LA is versing their close friends the LA Clippers tonight at the staples centre. It was their last game of the season and Lakers still didn't have Kobe Bryant which hurt them late in the game. Clipplers two guard Steve Blake and Baron Davis played exceptionally well and the others just did what they could to end their season on a good note. "I thought it was a great way to end the season," said Clippers coach Kim Hughes. "The bench came in and helped us out tremendously...Tonight, we were a well-balanced team all the way around." Steve Blake had an outstanding performance finishing of his night with a triple double. He had 23pts 10reb and 13 assist and Kris Kaman pitched in 22pts and 7reb. As for the Lakers, they now have Sasha Vuyacic out for the season with an ankle injury. Its a bad loss for them this late in the season because Sasha played well when the starters weren't providing much. We are definitely going to miss Sasha," said Lakers forward Ron Artest. "He was really starting to play well and I can't wait to get him back." That's only if they do get him back sometimes during the playoffs.

Hey bloggers,

Today the Lakers were versing Tyreke Evans and his young Sacramento Kings. Kings were looking forward of taking advantage of the fact that Kobe Bryant wasn't in this one, but LA's deep bench stepped up quite well to help them win this one tonight. The Lakers bench had a great role in this game, especially Shannon Brown Kobe's replacement. Brown played great defence and provided the Lakers with just enough with Kobe out. ''It hurts but I just drown it out," said Brown. "I'm trying to get a nice rhythm that's going to be consistent through the playoffs." With Playoffs coming up, its just this type of intensity and play that this team is going to need if they want to repeat what they did last year and become back to back champs for this year. "Not having consistency is always something tough to deal with," Brown said. And hes right because this team has been going through some ups and downs and you can't have that this late in the season. Paul Gasol had 28pts and 8reb while Shannon brown added 24pts of the bench to help LA get past this young team. This was LA's last home game before the playoffs and they needed this win. The next face off against the LA Clippers here at the Staples Center but as the away team.

Hey bloggers,

After winning and securing home court advantage on the previous night, LA is back home against the Portland Trailblazers and are hoping to make it two in a row. Unfortunately that wasn't the case because the Blazers came in focused and hoping that they could at least reach that 8th spot in the western conference. Even though they have three starters out for the season with injuries, this young team weren't intimidated by the number one seed. During the whole game i saw LA struggling a lot with getting the ball down low to Paul and Bynum, and with no inside presence and most of their shots from the out-side, they didn't have much in their favour. The blazers put this one way out of reach for the Lakers by the end of the third quarter but miraculously LA managed to come back and only trail by 3 points. All they needed was a three pointer from one of their shooters but instead passed the ball to their big man Paul Gasol to shoot a three, which was a stupid move since he was 0-6 from downtown and they lost the game. Gasol had 23pts and 12reb in this one and Kobe had 20pts, as for the rest of the Lakers, i think that the need to step it up more and take advantage especially when you have 3 starters from the opponent team out.

Hey bloggers,

After loosing on the road yesterday against the San Antonio Spurs, the Lakers were still in trouble. With their leading scorer Kobe Bryant out with a knee injury, the Lakers weren't to ready to face the number 2 seed in the Western Conference the Denver Nuggets. With a fast team like the nuggets, all the Lakers could do is to try to slow down the paste but couldn't quite do it without Kobe. The game was intense and both teams were exchanging buckets for buckets until the Nuggets Jr. Smith started draining three pointers to put his Nuggets up by 15pts. Lakers fought and came back but it wasn't enough for a win and let the Nuggets run away with it. Derrick fisher had a chance to give La the lead but got blocked with just a few seconds left on the clock and LA ran out of luck. As for Kobe Bryant's injury, it couldn't of came at a worse moment then this. With Teams fighting to win that number spot in the western conference, LA hasn't been doing that with 2 loss in a row. Even tho they still remain on top of the list, The Phoenix Suns and the Denver Nuggets are right behind them. Hopefully they can have Kobe back for the their next game back home, and pick up the slack. Paul Gasol had another double-double with 26pts and 13reb Ron Artest finished with 22pts and 6reb but all that wasn't enough since Carmelo Anthony had 31pts for the Nuggets and Jr ended his night with 26pts off the bench.

Hey bloggers,

The Lakers have now lost two in a row, and with Kobe Bryant out, they were hoping that it wouldn't be three in a row. Today Kobe Bryant was still out with his knee injury but it was no problem for the Lakers who were facing off against one of the worst teams in the NBA right now the Minnesota Timberwolf. The Timberwolfs haven't beat the Lakers in a while now and LA wasn't about to let that happen anytime soon, especially not with playoffs around the corner. After struggling, the Lakers were looking to secure home court advantage with a win today and did just that. It was a blowout from the beginning and LA didn't give the Timberwolf a chance to spoil their chances. They shot the ball well and executed their plays to the T. Paul Gasol and his guy played well. He finished the game with 29pts and 15reb, while his teammates Shanon Brown, Lamar Oden and Jordan Farmar all had 13pts and Ron Artest had 11pts to help LA walk out with a victory. Now LA can rest a little since they are now guaranteed home court advantage throughout the whole playoffs series, but that doesn't mean to stop winning it only means to take a shorter breather. The Lakers are really looking to give Kobe some rest so that he can heal and also be fully ready for crunch time. They next face off against Portland Trailblazers on Sunday night on ESPN

Hey bloggers,

With just a few days left before the playoffs start, Lakers are facing off with one of their rivals the San Antonio Spurs. The Lakers started of the game very the game very well and just had everything rolling for them before half time. After half time Lakers started relaxing and that's when the Spurs started taking over. LA couldn't buy a shot and Kobe was having an off night with no help from his teammates. This is a little scary going into the playoffs knowing that Spurs might be LA's first round match-up. It was also scary for the Spurs that already have started Tony Parker out with an injury, but now also have George Hill out after twisting his ankle in tonight's game. Even with all the injuries the Spurs are battling, they still managed to cruise past the Lakers with no trouble. As for the Lakers, they only Had Paul Gasol who played very well finishing his night with 32pts and 7assist, Kobe Bryant had 22pts and 8reb, beside that the Lakers didn't have anyone else that was big in today's game. For the Spurs, Tim Duncan ended his night with a double double of 24pts and 11reb and Manu Ginobili helped cruise past LA with 32pts with most coming in the third quarter. The Lakers are next opponent will be Denver nuggets who are also on a winning streak.

Hey bloggers,

After struggling on the road and losing two in a row, the Lakers are back home and quickly back to business against the Utah Jazz. Not only resigning 13time all-star leader Kobe Bryant on a 3 year extension but also getting back to their wins. The Jazz, that now won seven in a row, came into the Staples Center with a lot of confidence especially knowing that the Lakers have been struggling lately, which wasn’t the case tonight. With Lamar Odem and Paul Gasol, each one with a double and both having things their way, LA’s intensity helped them cruise past the Jazz. "It's about time," said Gasol, who finished with 14 points, 16 rebounds and a season-high nine assists. "We can't afford to have games like those on the road for now on. I think we're getting there, and tonight was a good sign. We have to continue to control our path." Controlling their path hasn’t really been the case as of late with this squad, they have the team to beat anyone in this league, but are lacking production from their bench players, and in this league, in order to be the champions, you need that productions and commitment from not only the starters but also from the reserves. Kobe Bryant had one of his worst shooting performances but still managed to get out of this one with 20pts, Lamar Odem had a game high 26pts on 11-for-14 shooting and Derrick Fisher finished with a solid 14pts performance.

Hey bloggers,

Today like the previous game, the Lakers squad got it handed to them with another lost against the Fly Hot Hawks. It’s now been two in a row that the Lakers have been looking a little shady, with poor performance from both the starters and the bench players, LA is not heading in the good direction heading into the playoffs. "Fish couldn't buy a shot," said Jackson, who said before the game that the play of his reserves has made him want to vomit. "It's hard to digest. Everybody on their team got going, basically, at some point. We're not playing really solid defence." Kobe netted another 26pts performance but only to get no help from other teammates beside Gasol, who finished with another double-double, 16pts and 11reb. "We're frustrated because we are aware of our quality," Gasol said. “We're not playing to that quality, that potential. When things don't go the way you think they should, and you don't understand why, you get a little bit sidetracked." With just a few more games left for the Lakers before the playoffs, LA hopes to have Andrew Bynum back in the line-up in maybe a week and a half if they hope to have things their way. This is very uncommon for the Lakers to lose two straight games by this much, especially knowing playoffs are around the corner. "We're not playing well defensively," Bryant said. "This trip, it's been consistently bad." The Lakers next faceoff The Utah Jazz back home for the first time since this road trip began. Hopefully they straighten out a bit and head back in the winning direction.

Hey bloggers,

Despite a great win over the Houston Rockets Last night and another great performance from Paul Gasol and Kobe Bryant tonight, the Lakers came up short to the New Orleans Hornet. They didn’t play that well, especially in the beginning but managed to keep it tight throughout the game. Frustrated towards himself and his teammates Bryants attitude went from saucy to silent while getting asked a few questions fallowing their lost. When a reporter asked Kobe what happen in Oklahoma and in New Orleans, Bryant simply responded, "We just didn't play well." When he was then asked why he was frustrated during the last few minutes of the game, he responded again "We just didn't play well." Beside the big two, Kobe and Gasol, the Lakers barely got help from their teammates. Gasol finished with 26pts and 22reb another double-double, Kobe had 31pts, and Ron Artest finished with 14pts. "He was getting double- and triple-teamed, and he was getting the ball to guys for shots and we just didn't shoot the two-point shot well at all," Lakers coach Phil Jackson said. "We had a couple here and a couple there. We weren't consistent at all." The Lakers next face off against the Hot Atlanta Hawks Wednesday night.

Hey bloggers,

After a heart breaking lost to the Oklahoma Thunders, the Lakers bounced back taking out all their frustration from the game before over The Houston Rockets. Rockets were leading at the end of the first quarter, but after that the Lakers just put it in 4th gear and went on a 35-11 run to end the half. The Lakers played well all around, offensively and defensively, which all started with Bryant’s aggression on the floor. "We tried to be aggressive and bounce back from a poor performance," said Paul Gasol, who led all scorers with a season-high 30 points. "We cracked it open in the second quarter and that gave us the momentum to put them away." The second leading score was Kobe, with 17 pts, 13 reb and 1 assist shy of a triple double. "We executed better than last night" Bryant said. "We came out and ran our offense the way that we are supposed to. Our defence is very solid, but there are nights when we don't show up defensively. Defence was the key to our second quarter." Bryant and Gasol had some help from teammates, Derrick Fisher had 13pts, Lamar Odem had 7 and contributing off the bench were Shannon Brown with 14pts and Jordan Farmar had 15. The Lakers continue their road trip against the New Orleans Tuesday night.

Tough loss for the Lakers

Hey bloggers,

Today the hot Lakers weren’t looking so hot after ending their 7-0 winning streak with a loss against the Oklahoma Thunders. Before today, LA was on a 12 game winning streak dating back to when Oklahoma was still in Seattle. The Lakers have been looking very strong and are fighting to keep that number one spot in the West but today just didn’t do it. With Thunders sold out crowed, Kevin Durant and his Thunders were ready mentally and physically for the defending champs. They just had to much speed and quickness all around, they hustled better and did all the right things to come up with that win. "Thabo's defence was great," said an admiring Kevin Durant, "Kobe is the best player in the world. Thabo gets us going on defence; he did a great job of fighting Kobe." When Kobe has nine turnovers, you know Oklahoma was too much to handle. They forced the Lakers to make a lot of mistakes.”Kobe had nine turnovers and you can't do that," Jackson said. "You can't have a game like that and expect to have success especially this late in the season." The whole Lakers squad really struggled defensively but also offensively. Leading the way was Andrew Bynum’s replacement Lamar Odem with 15 pts; Kobe only had 11pts, Gasol 9, Brown 9 and Fisher 7. Playoffs are ahead and the Lakers know what they have in for us. "We want to play better. There are things we have to do. I know what we can do. I know what our game really is and so I'm not second guessing it." But meanwhile Lakers still have few things to take care of before the season is over, they will be facing The Houston Rockets Saturday night.

On the road ,No Bynum, No problem!

Hey Bloggers,

Wednesday March 24th 2010

As you all know starter center Andrew Bynum is still out with a leg injury, but that doesn’t stop the Lakers from doing some damage and winning on the road. On Wednesday night, Kobe and the Lakers didn’t waste no time against a possible first round playoff match up, the San Antonio Spurs. The Lakers had won 6 in a row before this one, and that sure didn’t seem to make them happy enough. Kobe Bryant had one of his best second half’s this season going 11-for-16 on the game and Ron Artest(5 steals in second half alone) showed us the prime Ron Ron Defence throughout the whole game. "It was playoff type of atmosphere," Bryant said. "We were down the first half and we had to battle back. It was a good win for us to start this road trip. Against San Antonio you have to execute." Lakers went on a 16-3 run thanks to Kobe’s 3 pointers. "I just tried to be patient," Bryant said. "I had spots out there, especially in the first quarter, when I knew it was going to be a tough day. I just had to wait." LA was happy to start of their 5game road trip with a win over the Spurs because they know that they’ll be seeing a lot more of them in the playoffs, and even better, in the final rounds.

Easy win for the tough Lakers

Hey bloggers,

Today the Lakers were put to test at home against the Washington wizards. With starter Center Andrew Bynum out of the line up because of a crucial injury, the Lakers line up still looked good enough for a win. From the beginning of the game and throughout, the Lakers came out ready to play and you could see it in their eyes. The beginning of the game wasn’t to reassuring for Lakers fan, but the defending champs once again came to show us why they are one of the elite and toughest contenders in this league. ‘’With a team like this we know that we have the talent to overcome anything’’, said the Lakers Leading scorer Kobe Bryant, leading the way with (24pts). Paul Gazol had (28pts & 12reb), Ron Artest had 16 and Shanon brown ended his night with 13 of the bench. With that kind of contribution from the starters and bench players, the Lakers were sure to walk out of this game with a win, even without Bynum. Although this was an easy win for the mighty Lakers, Coach Phil Jackson is a little worried about the next weeks to come. There’s still 2 months in the season and it’s almost time for the playoffs and they still don’t know how long it’ll take Bynum to heal. ‘’ Fortunately, this year we got two more months of playing time out of drew’’ Jackson said, ‘’Hopefully this injury is a short duration.’ The lakers continue their winning streak and look good right now, but comes crunch(playoffs) time in a few week from now, they will need their big man back.
